We diamond grind the floor and use carbon fiber & Kevlar stitches as needed. HEPA vacs are used to control dust.

What basecoats do the other guys use?

Epoxy: 5–7 day cure time, not UV stable, and loses flexibility resulting in chipping and peeling. Polyaspartic: cures from the outside in, causing a weaker bond to the concrete, and can't withstand the alkalinity of concrete. Common polyurea: diluted with fillers, high VOC that evaporates, and lower solids content that produces poor long-term adhesion.

How long does a floor take to install?

Most residential projects are a one-day install. We grind, repair, coat, broadcast flake, and topcoat in a single visit. Larger or multi-area projects can take additional days.

When can I walk and park on it?

We recommend allowing 12 hours before walking on the newly coated surface. 24 hours: Light items may be returned to the surface. 48 hours: Heavy items may be returned, and the floor can be returned to full use.

How is this different from epoxy?

Accepted Answer

Epoxy is brittle, ambers in sunlight, and can peel when moisture pushes up through the slab. Our polyurea basecoat and polyaspartic topcoat stay flexible, resist UV, and bond into the ground concrete profile rather than sitting on top of it.

Will it hide cracks and stains?

Yes. Cracks and pits are filled with a mender that cures harder than the concrete, structural cracks get a carbon fiber and Kevlar stitch, and the flake broadcast visually hides the repair.

Is it slippery when wet?

Accepted Answer

The flake broadcast creates natural texture. However, any non-porous surface can be slippery when wet — that's why we always add specifically designed non-slip grip to the topcoat on all exterior surfaces, and to interior areas upon request.

How do I clean and maintain it?

Accepted Answer

Sweep off sand or dirt then simply rinse with water. A squeegee works great to clear water off. If you prefer, you may use your favorite floor cleaner. We recommend Simple Green, Pine Sol, CLR, Dawn or Mineral Spirits. Avoid long term exposure to bleach and stay away from acids and highly corrosive materials. The topcoat is non-porous and chemical resistant, so oil, salt, and pool chemicals wipe up instead of soaking in.

How much does a coated floor cost?

Price depends on square footage, the condition of the slab, how much repair work it needs, and the flake color system you choose. Estimates are free and we quote in person so the number you get is the number you pay.

Does the Gulf Coast weather affect installation?

Accepted Answer

The system cures across a wide temperature range and is far less humidity-sensitive than epoxy, so we install year-round. Open-air patios and pool decks are scheduled around rain.
